Textual Analysis of Eastenders
Kat is represented as a whore/tart and always wears dark clothing with connotes a feeling of danger to the audience, Stacey is represented as a mother character and tends to wear pink clothing with black jackets which could connote that she is a danger to love. When Kat and Stacey have a conversation which is about pregnancy, this represents that in a way they have a relation because they both are mothers but Kat is more of a whore representation of a mother. The editor uses a Shot Reverse Shot to connect Kat and Stacey which also connotes a Tense feeling for the audience demographic and allows them to insight the characters views of one another.
Further into the episode we see Nick who is a drug addict, when we see him he is in a rundown building this is a mid shot to show the character and also allows the audience to grasp a feeling of his surroundings, the lighting is soft but also dark keyed allowing the viewer to feel a empathetic emotion towards him as you can see his emotions.
