X-Factor Contestant Representation

This X-factor contestant positively represents young females because she is a normal young woman who is a fishmonger in south shields, she then came on X-Factor and sang really well for the audience and the judges, this has been selected because it gets across the message that not all people from south shields have annoying voices and are useless.

This has been constructed in a way that does't show her backing story because the fact that she is a fishmonger isn't exactly a really interesting story to background her with but the way she sings is really good, so to keep the audience interest they skip her backing story and just show her family crying at her singing and showing a lot of her singing, even though they don't show her backing story they still include her for the amount of time they would if a really good singer was on there with their backing story.

This audition makes us focus on her family as a positive because when she sings she makes them all cry with gives her a positive representation, at some points they use anchorage, where her family aren't speaking but crying without sound shows the emotion she makes people feel. They also use close ups of her family to show their happiness and emotions her music puts towards them.

Representation

Class Representation

This newspaper article is a negative representation, I have identified this because it is about a man who has been raised in a middle class family who is now believed to have been the first American suicide bomber in Syria.

The media producer that has produced this newspaper article has produced a negative representation towards middle class people.

This newspaper article is a positive representation, I have identified this because he is well dressed and his house is also positively presented, the picture also implies that he is middle class. It gives a positive represent.

Even though a lot of people would think the article is a negative view upon the recent 'ASL Ice Bucket Challenge', it is the his opinion but the media producer has wrote it in a way where the opinion isn't negative but it isn't positive. It is basically giving his positive views and negative views on the subject.

Age and Gender Representation

This is a scene from The Inbetweeners Movie, here is gives a negative representation of males. It represents males in a bad way because they are always on about sex and embarrassing themselves when in fact not all males are like that. It shows a stereotypical view on teenagers as well which links in with age representation of young adults.

The media producer has produced this in a stereotypical way but not purposely as The Inbetweeners is crammed full of experiences from both of the  directors lives. Both males and young adults are represented negatively in the inbetweeners but the media producer has done this from real life experiences and to produce a comical programmes/films.

Race Representation

In the clip of  'The fresh prince of Bel-Air' white people are negatively represented, I think this because Will and Carlton are talking about white police men pulling them over because they are two slow, however they think it is because they are black, the media producer who has produced this episode has represented white people in a negative way.
Sexuality Representation

This newspaper article represents heterosexuals in a negative way, I think this because a heterosexual has attacked a homosexual with a hammer it represents a lot of heterosexuals negatively. The media producer has represented heterosexuals in a negative representation.
