This X-factor contestant positively represents young females because she is a normal young woman who is a fishmonger in south shields, she then came on X-Factor and sang really well for the audience and the judges, this has been selected because it gets across the message that not all people from south shields have annoying voices and are useless.
This has been constructed in a way that does't show her backing story because the fact that she is a fishmonger isn't exactly a really interesting story to background her with but the way she sings is really good, so to keep the audience interest they skip her backing story and just show her family crying at her singing and showing a lot of her singing, even though they don't show her backing story they still include her for the amount of time they would if a really good singer was on there with their backing story.
This audition makes us focus on her family as a positive because when she sings she makes them all cry with gives her a positive representation, at some points they use anchorage, where her family aren't speaking but crying without sound shows the emotion she makes people feel. They also use close ups of her family to show their happiness and emotions her music puts towards them.
